Quick Tip #5 Get An Accountant

Posted on | June 27, 2010 | No Comments

I’ve waxed lyrical about this before, but if you want to be a professional writer, you need to treat your writing as a business. Sure, you could do your own accounts, and if you know tax policy inside and out, then I say go for it.

Of course, if not, then it pays to hire someone who takes accounting as seriously as you take writing.

You will be amazed what can quite legitimately be claimed back on tax, including trips to conventions… an accountants fees.

And of course assuming you get a trustworthy accountant, you’re unlikely to end up in jail for tax fraud.
