NanoWriMo Inspiration and an Update

I’m afraid last month, I was made of failure. I got just over 28,000 words. If I hadn’t been aiming for 50,000 then I would have called that a good month, but I fell off the writing wagon. I spent exactly one minute on self pity, then I let that go, because despite the fact [...]

Update, and a quick word about suffering

I’m a little behind. Right now I’m sitting right on 22,000 words for the month. I’m planning a fairly epic writing day tomorrow to catch up to my target and then keep on going. In that 22,000 I’m counting almost 16,000 words that I wrote…. and then deleted because they were in fact, very bad. [...]

Scott Sigler’s Infected reviewed.

Hi everyone, I’ve just reviewed Scott Sigler’s spectacular horror novel Infected. If you click on this here link it’ll take you right to it.

Woot!

Carrie Heim Binas, author of one of my favorite blogs Heim Binas Fiction, saw fit to give me a Superior Scribbler award. That’s made my whole day, thanks Carrie! There are some rules to getting one of these… 1. Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends. 2. [...]

Shorts!

I’ve finally got the short stories page up and running righthere. If you like stories, and you like them short, then this could be the place for you. The story that’s on there at the moment, Jack’s Echo (nothing to do with my last name, it just happens to be the main characters first name), [...]

Chapter Two of The Shadow Library is up

As promised, Chapter Two of The Shadow Library is good to go right here. Things get scarier, and gorier in this chapter. Of course that meant I really enjoyed writing every bit of it. I really hope you all enjoy what I’ve written, please feel free to leave your comments here or on the free [...]

Impossible Goals?

I’ve set plenty of them, failed at most, but achieved a couple. It’s been a while though, since I set myself something so truly monumental, so utterly ridiculous my girlfriend will once again consider calling the men in the white coats. So here it is. First, finish the first five chapters of The Shadow Library [...]

I caved

I couldn’t look at adversarial spelt as adverserial any more. It was a nice idea while it lasted but I’ve gone and changed the front page to the correct spelling. I’m finalising the very last bits of Chapter two ready to go up on Monday for you all right now, then going for epic lunch [...]

Wait, what?

I changed the name of the book. I toyed with the idea when I first started the blog and decided against it. Then in a display of contrariness that would make Scarlett O’Hara blush, my brain decided it hated me and wasn’t going to leave me alone until I changed it. So the Black Archive [...]

The Black Archive Chapter One now available!

Well, that happened faster than I was expecting. Chapter one of my novel The Shadow Library is now available for download in PDF format for your viewing pleasure. I’m staying open to suggestions at this stage, so if you have any thoughts or comments, leave them here. Now, for a happy dance. Andrew
